Raising taxes in a recession isn't laudable; it's idiotic and morally questionable. And since you are from MA, it might interest you to know that the city of Boston is engaging in acts of fraud as well. My own residence has just been reassessed higher to a level that is between 15 and 20 percent above any reasonable or fair estimate. This is not conjecture, this is a fact since no comparable property in my neighborhood has sold for anything more than 15 to 20 percent less than mine. Governments, both local and federal, are despicable, and the entire system of governance in the U.S. desperately needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

The only thing that makes me more disgusted than the actions of government is the bloodless behavior of we citizens who seem incapable of responding purposefully or properly.
