“We all know, but still pay insufficient attention to, the frightening scenario of a comprehensive cyber attack, which would bring a complete halt to the power supply, transportation, hospital services, our society as a whole.”

Missiles from Yemen, the Houthi, and other Islamic organizations reign terror on the Red Sea…
Attacks started almost two weeks ago. Israeli-owned tankers crossing through the 18km stretch of the Al-Mandab Strait struck with missiles and righteous fury…
Now it’s almost any oil tanker that’s suspect(or that’s how the main stream media plays it).
In response, more Western nations(UK, France, US, Canada) are committing naval ships to defend the Middle East in the name of Israel, but in truth, for the profit of oil.
Unfortunately, the war over oil, and really a fight to artificially lower inflation in US, is moving far from land, sea, and air… into cyberspace.
And it’s being driven by yet another non-state-actor. Whether or not this hacker group is acting on their own is another question, but here it is.
OilPrice.com reports:
Mass Cyber Attack on Iranian Gas Stations Claimed by Israeli Group
“Iran’s petrol stations nationwide have been disrupted by a cyberattack, according to Iranian officials, who have placed blame on a hacking group linked to Israel, Iranian and Israeli media report.
It is unclear how many petrol stations have been affected in the attack, with the Iranian oil minister saying earlier on Monday that some 70% had been disrupted, but later noting that 1,650 out of 3,800 petrol stations had been attacked. Iran is blaming a hacking group that goes by the name of “Predatory Sparrow” (Gonjeshke Darande), which issued a Telegram statement saying that the attack was “carried out in a controlled manner to avoid potential damage to emergency services”…
“Khamenei, playing with fire has a price,” the group warned. “This is just a taste of what we have in store.”
The hacking group also said it had gained access to petrol station payment systems and central server and management systems.
The cyberattacks follow a series of fires at Iranian refineries.”
Israel’s Predatory Sparrow seems to have issued its first warning, which puts countries like Iran, and other Islam-aligned states in the Middle East with perhaps significantly lower cybersecurity at risk.

I am saying this because disruption of oil production is the disruption of an entire economy. To give you an idea…
At home, roughly 83% of the United States powers and heats their homes using oil and its derivative, natural gas.
And oil and natural gas prices take up about 20% of the Consumer Price Index…
That doesn’t include any associated categories like food production, for example.
But the point is…
If a “random” Predatory Sparrow has the potential to cripple Iran with a cyberattack, the pressure gauge on the uncertainty meter is pushing into overdrive.
Which also gives you some clue into what could spark the next Black Swan event.

If only someone were to press the right buttons at the seemingly wrong time, one financial exchange, or a random event in Uzbekistan, or even a random Predatory Sparrow could cause chaos.
Best to be prepared with some survival gear and food to boot for you and your family.
