“But man, proud man,
Drest in a little brief authority
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
As makes the angels weep.”
– William Shakespeare, Measure for Measure

Cuba’s Revolutionary, Fidel Castro, is our do-gooder of the day.
Why?
No one is talking about his legacy except for would-be private conversations in public places abroad…
The Toronto Star reports:
Cuba’s faltering bid at change: economy craters and citizens flee amid serious crisis
“When Cuba’s prime minister recently visited a staunch ally abroad, he got an unexpected scolding in front of media cameras.
Belarus leader Aleksandr Lukashenko, breaking with protocol that holds that sensitive topics among friends are best discussed behind closed doors, complained to Prime Minister Manuel Marrero that Cuba has been too slow in solving its decades-long economic woes.
“There is no movement,” Lukashenko told Marrero. “We have the warmest relations. At the political level, we have absolutely no differences. But you, as a practical person who heads the government, understand perfectly well that the basis of all this, the foundation, is the economy.””
The waves of Castro’s legacy continue to roll out with food and medicine shortages, rolling blackouts, and a whopping 400% annual inflation rate.

Those who remain loyal to Marxist critique and Castro’s communist regime hold high positions of power in government are in their 90’s. For example,
“Machado, 93, gave up his seat as second secretary of the Communist Party in 2021, though he has not entirely retired and is frequently seen in government meetings and official visits around the country. Valdés, 91, a former aide to Fidel Castro, is still the country’s first vice minister.”
Machado’s new non-political position is quite similar to many of the climate do-gooders in the West.
Take Al Gore, the climate alarmist who takes the same Marxist perspective and applies it to oil advertisements. Here’s what Gore says in an interview with the New Yorker:
Al Gore on the Climate Crisis: “We Have a Switch We Can Flip”
“When ExxonMobil or Chevron put their ads on the air, the purpose is not for a husband and wife to say, ‘Oh, let’s go down to the store and buy some motor oil.’ The purpose is to condition the political space so that they have a continued license to keep producing and selling more and more fossil fuels, Gore says.”
It seems doubtful that TV advertising would be directed towards politicians or politics. Although, the word “condition” does point to the Marxist relationship between the media and the masses. I think Exxon and Chevron if anything I have spent more ads explaining their climate goals to the public than propaganda.
I wonder if it would simply not be more effective for Exxon Mobil and other oil producers to donate directly to politicians. Eighteen of the top Twenty oil and gas politicians in 2022 went to Republicans Congressmen.
So what’s Gore really defending against? Maybe donations going to another party. Who knows… But oil and gas does seem to be a large source of donations for republican politicians. Not the commuter concerned about getting to and from work everyday.
You and I, the average joe’s of the world are concerned about family, friends and food on the table. When we go to buy oil, we remember reliability, we remember brand names, and we want oil that will make our liabilities last longer.
If Al Gore were to look at those ads from the capitalist perspective, they would simply be oil companies looking for brand recognition, or cleverly timed ads during American summer road trips.
But here we have the ongoing legacy of Castro the do-gooder, and more rich communists.
Gore’s $36 Billion company, Generation Investment Management, pays him $2 Million per month.
When he started the fund, quaintly Gore humble bragged…
The DailyMail reports:
“He proudly said of his role at the fund, when it launched, was that of a figurehead saying: ‘I’m not a stock picker.”
For communist regimes, social media leaks inconvenient truths leading to “rabbit holes” of information. At the recent COP28 event in Dubai, Gore likened free information on social media to “the digital equivalent of AR-15s – they ought to be banned, they really ought to be banned!”

Climate is more important than a free economy, freedom of information, or your vote. Dreadful, but that’s do-gooding.
So one tends to wonder what the eventual outcome of the green industry, and climate change narrative will be.
If anything, it will not be as small and forgotten as the legacy of Fidel Castro, but it’s looking similar to the fate of the many do-gooders in history…
In with a bang, out with a whimper.
