Dear Mr. Brand, This is a terrific piece. I live in India and when I was in the U.S. last summer I was surprised at how people really want the same thing. People who did not follow the woke culture, would tell me that they knew they had support from other neighbours, who told them quietly .that they supported them. Most of all I was surprised by the number of people who said they regretted taking the vax and who told me that “Stay away from doctors ” , without knowing that this is how I feel. People would say, I dont know what is going on but this is not the America I grew up in But we need leadership to hold us together.
We need to stand up for our Constitutional right to free speech. No matter how unpopular it might be or who might take offense. It is only when that Right is taken away in the name of not hurting someone’s feelings that our Democracy has ended. I agree that we should try and be kind to all but we must defend unpopular speech
