So, every Sunday morning I sit down to write a few short thoughts.
Sometimes these thoughts end up being about life, other times they are on gold, geopolitical issues affecting the markets, or the economy.
Here are three thoughts for this morning:
1. More energy is being used to provide life support for the fiat system.
For example, pumping money into US banks at higher rates than the pandemic is becoming routine.
So far this month the Fed pumped $18.5 Billion into the US banking system using overnight repo agreements. It’s the fifth largest liquidity injection since the pandemic. Only this time, it’s become a routine, more than a one-time “emergency” injection.
You’re looking at a system that can’t function without the printing press running in the background.
The debt crisis is just getting started, and so are our precious metals.
2. The “Warmth of Collectivism” is already hitting New York.
Mamdani is uttering taxation ultimatums for compliance.
The same thing always happens when you tax the rich. They move their money and their business elsewhere. Yet, when it comes down to it, the rich move, and government benefits and social programs continue on, someone still has to pay.
That ends up being the majority of people… the middle-class.
So you see, Mamdani has no choice but to raise taxes for those he promised to defend.
The Wall Street Journal reports:
Mamdani Takes New York Hostage
“New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is the fresh face of America’s progressive vanguard, so his policy moves are worth watching. His first big move is threatening to raise property taxes unless Democrats in Albany raise taxes on top earners and business. What an ultimatum: Fleece the rich for him, or he’ll fleece them and the middle class.
Mr. Mamdani on Tuesday unveiled his inaugural $127 billion budget, which he amusingly called austere. Only in New York, kids. His budget is $10 billion bigger than Florida’s, though New York City’s population is only 40% of the Sunshine State’s. It’s a $10 billion increase over this year.
New York city and state are rolling in tax revenue thanks to hefty capital-gains realizations and Wall Street bonuses. City revenue has doubled and state tax revenue (excluding property taxes) is up two-thirds since 2019. Yet tax collections haven’t kept pace with political spending and government-worker benefits. The city faces a $5 billion shortfall, according to Mr. Mamdani.”
3. Are there Heroes in Hollywood?
You might have noticed some stories popping up about Michael Jackson in your social feeds and over YouTube. As it turns out he was one of the good guys. Macaulay Culkin even claimed that Jackson once saved him from being taken to a mysterious island.
Anyway, I think it’s important to believe there could be some “good guys” in Hollywood. Aside from Mel Gibson’s tumultuous past, he’s exposed a lot of evil in the City of Angels, there seems to be Brad Pitt.
Here’s one instance where Pitt protected a younger, less known Gwyneth Paltrow.
Are there heroes in Hollywood?
