“Dismissed is the hard work of their fathers and grandfathers who went ahead of them. Dismissed are the virtues of thrift, sound money, limited government, and collective modesty. Flipping with boredom through the back pages of historym Americans pay no attention to the dead.”
~ Bill Bonner, Mobs, Messiahs, and Markets
For as many who wish the world well, there are many more who strive to bring heaven down to earth.
Yet they have never been able to do so through political means, or to believe the world is as it is, in error.
The easiest example is Hitler.
His promises were all based on bringing his version of heaven down to earth.
Hitler’s political promises were based on the premises of helping the poor, restoring dignity to the German people, and breaking down class divisions while destroying communism at the same time.
At the same time, he framed his war against the Jews as a positive, and a quest for “racial purity.”
He was a “man of the people.”
That being said, he was one of those men who choose to bring heaven down to earth, but…
According to his own vision of right, and wrong – mostly wrong…
Like many, attempt to restore their own version of heaven on earth.
Usually this happens from the ruins of disaster, or out of oppression, then comes the savior.
However, it is usually in disaster, in the moments of recovery when we can either choose to see things as they are, or demand the heavens, delivered by angels standing behind the pulpit of politics.
The present case, and maybe a foreshadow of things to come across America, is the recovery of the City of Angels.
How will Los Angeles recover from last year’s Pacific Palisades wildfire?
AP News reports:
Los Angeles mayor proposes slashing over 1,600 city jobs to close budget hole
During the coronavirus pandemic, then-Mayor Eric Garcetti furloughed about 15,000 city workers and offered early retirement packages to others, but avoided outright layoffs at a large scale.
Despite the city’s shaky financial shape, Bass delivered a mostly upbeat speech to the council, noting that crime had dipped, including homicides, and the city was gradually getting homeless individuals off the streets and into housing.
She acknowledged the obvious: Though the numbers point to improvement, homeless encampments remain a familiar sight in neighborhoods across the city and more funds are needed for housing.
There is “much further to go,” she said.”
Yes, the City of Angels is looking for redemption from a bloated, do-gooding bureaucracy.
Given it is no where near the shocking evil Hitler nurtured into the world, the amount of red tape, hoola hoops, official stamps needed not only the recovery of the Pacific Palisades is an overwhelmingly cumbersome wound exposed by the wildfires.
It is a wound that most people have voted, fought, and bled for in the State of California.
The bureaucratic safety net of the entitled masses bringing their own version of heaven down to earth.
Meanwhile, another champion is starting to feel the heat…
If not, the disillusionment of the Washington swampy bog, where the fire can burn for weeks underground without anyone knowing.
That is, until public champions on different sides of the coins compare their Schwartz(see Spaceballs, 1987).
Musk vs. Schumer and the democratic deep state in an epic bout…
One man cannot defeat an army, which is why men fight to control them.
Otherwise, the army, no matter how bureaucratic, or armed, or allied defeats the one man.
Then the fires really start burning.
And the one man’s bark becomes a whimper.
Politico reports
DOGE’s bark becomes a whimper
“When President DONALD TRUMP and ELON MUSK stormed into office three months ago, their approach to remaking the federal government was all slash-and-burn — and shock-and-awe — as Musk’s DOGE brought a sledgehammer to the bureaucracy.
Now, it’s been a week since agencies were required to submit their updated reduction in force and reorganization plans to the Office of Personnel Management — a deadline that passed with little fanfare and few headlines, with the agencies and OPM itself remaining silent.
The loss of momentum comes as Musk has walked back DOGE’s savings goals from $2 trillion to $150 billion.”
The broad socialization effort has already started, Elon Musk appears to be on his way out of politics.
Saddened by the burden of back door conversations without the after school brewhall to settle congressional scores, and really, a loss of $1.85 Trillion in aspirations, Musk appears to be on his way out.
It is too hard to make a difference.
The Independent reports:
Musk wants to leave politics because he’s tired of ‘attacks’ from the left, report says
“Elon Musk is reportedly set to leave his government role because he’s tired of the what he sees as a litany of vicious and unethical attacks from the left, according to a report from The Washington Post.
It remains unclear when Musk will depart as head of the Department of Government Efficiency; his special government employee status will expire at the end of next month. A person familiar with his thinking told The Post that Musk thinks that his work at DOGE won’t be diminished because of his departure, noting that staffers have already established themselves across a slew of federal agencies.
But speculation of Musk’s possible departure comes as his influence in the administration appears to wane.”
Or are the difficulties just something Musk will choose to endure?
Whatever the outcome is…
Musk’s money-saving efforts…
His goal of reducing government spending by $2 Trillion, and to remove the rot of corruption of the United State’s politics…
Those things will all be done as they are here on earth, not as they are done in heaven.
