“…just in case we need it.”
~ Alan Greenspan, the Former Federal Reserve Board Chairman on the gold in Fort Knox
Written by Bryan Lutz, Editor at Dollarcollapse.com:
Auditing Fort Knox could be DOGE’s biggest find yet.
Since ZeroHedge pinged Elon Musk on X, the speculation has been on.
So, we all want to know. What’s really inside Fort Knox?
Will there really be all the gold the US government says there is?
DailyMail reports:
DOGE prepares gold reserve ‘audit’ after top Republican invites Elon Musk to review Fort Knox
“Sen. Rand Paul is inviting Elon Musk to come to his state of Kentucky to review the largest reserves of gold in the U.S.
A libertarian X account with 2 million followers asked the leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to set his sights on Fort Knox to make sure the U.S. supply of gold is still in its reserves.
Musk questioned why the gold supply is not reviewed every year, leading to speculation that he could look into the military base with the fortified vault full of U.S. gold.”
When I refer to the amount of gold held by the US, I usually get replies saying, “Haven’t you heard? Fort Knox is empty! Get your facts straight.”
They’re right…
And they’re wrong.
Neither of us know the facts.
However, it’s weird that the latest picture of gold in Fort Knox is through a small, open door, which could be no bigger than a broom closet at most.
When these doors(Sept. 23, 1974) were opened it was just one of fifteen vaults the government said were all full.
What could be seen from the open door was only 6%.
None of the other vault doors were ever opened.
It was all classified as an “audit.”
So it’s about the same amount of information we’re relying on for any conspiracy theory.
I’m talking pictures of the real deal.
Not reports…
Not reports of reports etc.
Here’s another picture: the United States Bullion Depository is a small building in the middle of a fenced field of the State of Kentucky.
Now, speaking of records…
“The Bullion Depository holds roughly 147 million troy ounces of bulk gold, which represents over half the gold held by the U.S. federal government or 56.35 percent of the total.”
Will the records line up? We may soon find out.
Here’s the first of a recent four part series from the History Channel on the Fort Knox:
