Is This the Turning Point for Trump?: Internal Fighting Hits Across America’s Headlines This Week

Written by Bryan Lutz, Editor at Dollarcollapse.com:

Protests are erupting in Los Angeles.

Tariffs turned down by Federal Courts…

China’s Xi turns the other cheek…

And Elon has turned against Trump.

Is this America’s turning point?

Are we turning away from the hope of a happy ending?

Whatever’s happening, Trump seems more like that annoying dog down the street that won’t stop barking.

Someone in the White House needs say the obvious…

You can only bark for so long.

Then people call your bluff. They stop paying attention, and…

Eventually they jeer the owners to put a muzzle on the dog, leave the dog inside, and shutter the door.

But the fights about the dog aren’t happening between Trump and the neighbors anymore.

It’s all in the house.

Last week, it was the nasty Trump and Musk divorce, which started here…
Zerohedge reports:
Musk Hit Bessent ‘Like A Rugby Player’ In White House Fight, Bannon Claims

“Long-simmering tensions between Elon Musk and other members of the Trump administration exploded into physical violence in mid-April, with Musk aggressively shouldering Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Bessent battling back, according to a second-hand account from Trump political advisor and Musk-despiser Steve Bannon.

First reported by the Washington Post on Saturday, Bannon’s tale comes amid a raging battle between Trump and Musk that’s left Trump saying he has no desire to patch things up and assumes their relationship — which by all accounts played a decisive role in Trump’s return to power — is over.”

Then Musk had enough.

The small stuff added up…

Like the Trump’s desire to remove federal tax credits from electric vehicle purchases.

Adam Sharp at The Daily Reckoning writes:

Crashout: Musk vs. Trump, the Real Story

“It started out somewhat innocently, with Musk and Trump sparring over electric vehicle (EV) tax credits and the Big Beautiful Bill (BBB).

But something bigger was simmering behind the scenes…

As we all know by now, things escalated quickly.

The President threatened to remove all Tesla’s tax incentives and end SpaceX’s contracts with NASA and other agencies.

These were mostly hollow threats, because the former is already in the works, and the latter is impossible due to NASA’s near-complete reliance on SpaceX.

Then Elon set off a political nuke by accusing Trump of withholding the Epstein files because DJT himself was in them.

What possessed him to do this?

Who knows?

Was he under the influence of one or more psychoactive substances?

Perhaps, but that’s all speculation.

Regardless, if there was any such evidence, it certainly would have been leaked by the deep state long ago to thwart one of his presidential campaigns.

Things have de-escalated a bit since. But at this point reconciliation seems impossible. Things were said which can’t be taken back.”

Now Trump’s started a fight with California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom over immigration.

Without request or permission, Trump sent 2000 soldiers from the National Guard to shut down riots over immigration in Los Angeles.

This seems like a huge jump from his stance back in 2020.

The left is upset over arrests made by the Immigation and Customs Enforcement(ICE) authority in California.

The department is detaining and attempting to deport families, including children without parents back to their home countries.

Here’s what that looks like since Trump’s inauguration:

Almost 25% detained by ICE do not have criminal records.

Yet, simply being in the country illegally is a civil violation and under the the authority of ICE…

Whereas Newsom sees himself as a defender of the children and families just trying to make a living for themselves.

So the feud has been fuelled.

Mish Shedlock at MishTalk.com writes:

Gavin Newsom Dares Homan to Arrest Him, Trump Says Homan Should

“Should Homan Arrest Governor Gavin Newsom?

Newsom Responds to Homan Statement

He’s a tough guy. Why doesn’t he do that? He knows where to find me. But you know what? Lay your hands off four year old girls that are trying to get educated. Ley your hands off these poor people who are just trying to live their lives, paying their taxes, been here for 10 years. The fear, the horror, who the hell is this guy?

Come and arrest me. Let’s just get it over with tough guy. I don’t give a damn. What the hell are they doing? They need to grow up. They need to stop, and we need to push back. So Tom, arrest me, let’s go.

Trump on Newsom

Reporter: “Gavin Newsom is daring Tom Homan to come and arrest him. Should he do it?”

Trump: “I would do it if I were Tom. I think it’s great. Gavin like the publicity but I think it would be a great thing.”

Criminal Record?

A “criminal record” does not mean much. A traffic ricket for going 5 miles over the speed limit is constitutes a crime.

Q: What about crossing the border illegally?

A: That is not a crime, unless repeated. It’s a civil violation. So stop calling being here a crime.

The Supreme Court has made a mess of enforcement of civil violations.

Politically Speaking

Newsom’s response was brilliant.

I see no gain for Republicans for an arrest of Newsom. I rather doubt they do it. If so, chalk up another TACO.

Grade A and Grade F

Give Trump and A for closing the border. Give him a F for working out a sensible policy in the wake of closing the border.

Instead of going after hard criminals, the Trump administration moved the other way. That is what fuelled the backlash in California.”

So does Trump have everything under control at home?

Is he fulfilling his campaign promises?

At this time, he’s really just succeeded in removing USAID, ripping DEI initiatives out of most public administrations across the US.

And tariffs, for the most part have been turned away by the federal courts.

Is this America’s turning point away from a happy ending?

  1. Continueing to stand on principle and the law of the land when you have activist judges rigging the game while communists are burning and looting your cities is stupid. At some point you have to save the country laws or not. Rep Tim Burchett said looters should be shot on sight and I agree with him. I don’t think Trump will let it go as far as he did in his first term. The shooting can’t come soon enough.

  2. No matter what President Trump does, the Left will whine and stomp their feet. The Biden White House caused this mess, Trump has to clean it up. Still too many Libby Dems in hiding in the Trump administration causing problems. But the main problem is 36 trillion in National Debt. It ain’t going away. Everything else is kabuki theatre. Gold, silver, and toilet paper will be the real currency.
