“Our Comrade, Kim Jong Il. Our Country cannot exist without you.”
~ No Motherland Without You

Oh, you don’t know the song?
“No Motherland Without You” is the most popular song in North Korea. It celebrates Kim Jong Il.
It has been #1 for over two decades.
Pure and simple propaganda. That’s all.
It’s centered around the “revolutionary” ideas meant to propel their leader into God-like status.
That seems to be what happens during revolutions.
Lenin had his.
Hitler.
Then Stalin.
North Korea’s revolution pushed Kim Jong Il into the center…
Is Trump the same?
I don’t think so…
America’s revolution seems to be driven by one celebrity with a motley crew of assorted individuals all interested in making America great again.
Whereas one idea pushes people into the whims of one man, the idea of freedom and prosperity for all people empowers many. Freedom reduces the power of the State, and hands power over to the individual to decide for themselves.
If the left identifies this as tyranny then compare these two videos:
The video above, and the video below.
The video below was released by the Trump campaign the day before the election on Nov.5, 2024.
Tell me if this breathes propaganda or not.
I don’t think it does…
It’s just a bunch of people all giving reasons why they think one side should win – why they’re pretty much running together.
The book, “Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity, and Poverty”, the authors, Daron Acemoglu, and James A. Robinson, give more than few reasons, but here are two hinges…
And the main difference between why North Korea can’t feed its citizens, and why the United States became the most prosperous nation in the world.
Nations fail like North Korea when political institutions benefit politicians by extracting resources from the people.
Here are three ways this happens in more detail:
1. Extractive Political Institutions
- Power is concentrated in the hands of a small elite.
- Political institutions are designed to maintain the status quo and suppress dissent.
- No mechanisms exist for broad public participation or accountability.
2. Extractive Economic Institutions
- The economy is structured to benefit elites rather than encourage broad-based prosperity.
- Lack of secure property rights for the majority discourages investment and innovation.
- Corruption and cronyism dominate, stifling competition.
3. Lack of Inclusive Institutions
- Nations that fail lack inclusive political and economic institutions that allow broad participation.
- When people are excluded from political and economic systems, growth is stunted.
- Economic opportunities are limited to those with political connections.
That being said, the changes happening in the United States right now, are those moving away from the negative and towards the positive, prosperity of a nation.
Remember, there is no “motherland” without YOU, the individual.
